Rodney Kane returns to Timberlake, this time as head coach of the Tornadoes, and he's bringing some lofty goals.
“Our goal is to make the VIC playoffs,” he said. “We want to come in first or second in the Southern division. I'm excited. The guys I have this year are dedicated and willing to work.”
Kane served as an assistant on the varsity for two years before going to Washington D.C., last year to become the athletic director and basketball coach at Evangel Christian School.
The Tornadoes, who finished 8-12 last year, have only one returning starter in 6-3 senior center Richard Lambert.
Gary Schmincke, a 6-foot junior who was the leading scorer on the JV team last year, is expected to start at shooting guard.
