Take A New Look
at Tornado Basketball
The varsity team improved on the year before and was much more competitive. Though the Tornadoes started slowly, they peaked down the stretch, winning three of their last five games. Season highlights included a runner-up finish at the WBC tournament, a win over Prince Edward, and a top-twenty ranking.
The JV team had an exciting season of its own, with nearly every game coming down to the end. Its signature moment was a comeback from 23 points down in the fourth quarter to beat Holy Cross.
The Junior High team closed out its year with a 9-7 record.
League: VIC
Coach: Tim Hill
Key Players: Matt Anderson, Joe Blair, Marty Chandler, Marc Wright, Jeff Laury, Frank Weiland
Analysis: The Tornadoes should be stronger than last season when they were 7-17 with five of those losses by five points or less.
Coach's Comments: “Our strength is the enthusiasm of our young players. Our junior varsity graduates have brought in a winning attitude. Our weakness will be the lack of height. We are putting a lot of emphasis on fundamentals, and we expect to be fundamentally sound this season.”
