The Holiday Classic was a four-team tournament played every December, before Christmas, among the area’s private schools: Timberlake Christian School, Holy Cross Regional Catholic School, Lynchburg Christian Academy, and Virginia Episcopal School. It ran for 20 years, from 1986 through 2005, with the host rotating among the four schools — and the host getting to pick its own semifinal opponent.
