Varsity Basketball

The 1979-80 Tornado Varsity Basketball team provided many exciting games for their fans this year. Although the team finished the year 11-9, we were in the thick of most games until the final horn sounded. This was a team of experience, as we started seniors Danny Pack, Barry Kane, Ed Kirkpatrick, and Ronny Gross along with Junior Chuck Sanders. The Most Valuable Player award was given to Danny Pack, while Vince Ortiz won Most Improved Player. The Coach's Award went to Barry Kane, and Ed Kirkpatrick won the coveted Hatchet Award. Danny Pack became the first player in TCS history to score 1,000 points in his career; he received a plaque as one of the top 1,200 players in the country.
