The Bulldogs ran off a 22-8 first-quarter lead and rolled to the Virginia Independent Conference win.

Johnny Woods led LCA with 22 points, including 12 in the second half. Woods also had 13 rebounds, as did teammate Thurston Fanney. R.W. Carson added 16 points, including 14 in the first half. LCA is now 9-6 overall and 4-1 in the VIC.

Cecil Floyd led TCS, 4-5 overall and 1-5 in the VIC, with 14 points. Mike Pulliam added 12 and Brad Yates 10.

“Our press caused them a lot of trouble early,” said LCA coach Richard Gifford. “We hurt them on the boards, too. I bet we out-rebounded them at least 2-to-1, maybe 3-to-1. We really went to the boards hard.”
