Hargrave tops Timberlake

CHATHAM — Hargrave took a 12-9 first quarter lead and ran it to 42-32 at halftime en route to a 71-64 Virginia Independent Conference win over Timberlake Christian Monday night.

Hargrave (2-0) had 18 points from senior forward Ruben Pickard.

Timberlake (1-4) got a game-high 23 points from senior forward Matt Anderson and guard Marty Chandler tossed in 18.
