Miller 66, TCS 50
VIC Tournament — Quarterfinal
Hosted by Lynchburg College
February 26th, 2004
Timberlake put up a valiant fight against a much taller, quicker Miller School team, but came up short against the No. 1 seed from the VIC North, marking the end of the careers of veteran coach Charlie Williams and senior center Keith Rogers.
Rogers at least went out on a high note, swishing a tough 3-pointer from the top of the key in the closing seconds to bring his game-high total to 23, matching his uniform number. Freshman Jon Morgan added 13 points for the Tornadoes while Miller School placed four players in double figures.
“We couldn’t keep them off the boards,” Williams said. “They were too big and too strong — they were solid. We didn’t shoot very well, but other than the offensive boards, we could have won tonight. The guys played hard from the beginning to the end.”
