Holy Cross applied man-to-man defensive pressure and outscored Timberlake Christian 18-5 in the fourth quarter to take command of the game late. Timberlake (5-8, 2-1 VIC) got 25 points from leading scorer Jon Morgan through the first three quarters, but he was held to just two in the fourth.

Holy Cross first-year coach Mark Skinner said stopping Morgan in that final stretch was the difference in the game. D.J. Georgievski (20 points) and Nikola Abramovik (18) paced the Gaels (3-6, 2-2), who shot 11-for-14 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.
