Westover Christian Academy hit a shot with 20 seconds left to seal its win over visiting Timberlake Christian in a Virginia Independent Conference game.

The Tornadoes (12-15, 5-9 VIC) had the ball and a four-point lead with 2:30 left to play when they were called for a technical foul over an illegal substitution. Westover made Timberlake pay, hitting both free throws and then a 3-pointer to take a one-point lead.

Jon Morgan led the Tornadoes with 36 points, Chris Newsome added 10 and Luke Cunningham had eight. "We played alright but Westover played well," TCS coach Jason Spear said afterward, adding that a few late poor decisions had cost his team down the stretch.
