Garret Hollingsworth made one of two free throws with 30 seconds left, and North Cross survived a good look by Jon Morgan at the other end to escape with a one-point win over host Timberlake Christian.

Timberlake (6-9, 2-3 VIC) had tied the game with a minute left on a 3-pointer from Chris Newsome, who finished with 12 points. But Hollingsworth, who led all scorers with 20 points, was fouled on the ensuing possession and gave North Cross (4-6, 2-2 VIC) the lead for good at the line.

Morgan led Timberlake with 15 points.
