Hosted by Fuqua

Watch Game

The Tornadoes of Timberlake Christian Schools evened their record at 3-3 and won the Fuqua Invitational Christmas Tournament in what was their best performance of this young season. Highlighted by two stellar individual performances, Timberlake displayed tenacious team defense and a dominating presence on the boards to run away from Fuqua 77-40. TCS won each quarter by 7 pionts or more as they buckled down on the defensive end. After an explosive first quarter by Jon Morgan (12 pts in the 1st), Fuqua was relegated to using a box-and-one defense to try to shut down Morgan and the Tornadoes. Chris Thomas took adavantage of the newfound opportunities as he poured in 11 points of his own in the 2nd quareter. Jon Morgan led the Tornadoes with his second straight 27 point performance and Chris Thomas scored a career-high 23 points. Jon Morgan was particularly accurate as he hit all 11 of the field goals he attempted. He fell one free throw short of complete perfection, but still shot 100% from the field in the game.. TCS had all but one of their players score and was a few points away from putting five players in double figures. Chris Thomas and Mark Henry were named to the All-Tournament team and Jon Morgan was named the Tournament MVP.
