Colby Heckman scored 25 points and Jon Morgan netted 20 points, equaling E.C. Glass's total offensive output, as Timberlake Christian School controlled the Lynchburg College Tournament game from the start.

"I think the kids underestimated Timberlake, as much as we told them how good Morgan and Heckman were," E.C. Glass coach Marty Chandler said. "We were in a little hole there at the break that we couldn't dig ourselves out of. We had 20 turnovers and they played a zone all night. Timberlake shot the ball fantastic. They shot 55 percent from the 3-point line."

Chris Thomas added 12 points and Morgan also distributed six assists and handled the ball well for the Tornadoes (5-4).

James Hobson paced the Hilltoppers (4-4) with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Timberlake scored the first bucket of the game in their first ever meeting against EC Glass, and never looked back. The Tornadoes put together their best team effort of the season in all phases of the game. Showing a ferocity not yet seen this season, TCS defended out of their zone with aggressive double teams and active hands. Jonathan Phelps showed why his nickname is the "Eraser" tallying four blocks in the contest. Chris Newsome and Phelps became men during the contest taking 2 charges a piece.

With the front line holding strong the guards were able to fly around the court helping generate 8 steals in the game. Though the defense was at its best, the offense stole the show. For the first time this season, Colby Heckman led TCS with 25 points. He scored 17 of those in the first half that saw Timberlake take a 14 point lead into the half. While Colby led the way on offense, his teammates helped out with timely passing, cutting, and shooting. The Tornadoes made 6 of their 9 3 point attempts, had four different players hit 3s in the game and shot nearly 60% from the field for the game. These were all highs for the season.

The three guards for TCS all broke double figures in scoring with Jon Morgan chipping in 20 and Chris Thomas 12. Colby Heckman and Jon Morgan both shot over 70% from the field for the game. Timblerlake came out strong in the second half extending thier lead to 23 points by the end of the quarter. TCS employed patience rarely seen this year and managed to keep their turnover numbers 7 below their season aveage against an aggressive EC Glass defense. This patience allowed for great open looks leading Timberlake to 15 assists. Jon Morgan had 7 of these assists. The win is the second in a row for Timberlake as they move above .500 for the first time since opening night.
