Coming off games against two of the top teams in the VIC, TCS looked to get back into the winner's cirlce with a home game against North Cross. Last season, North Cross came in to town and soundly defeated Timberlake in all phases of the game. Seniors Colby Heckman, Chris Thomas, and Jonathon Phelps saw to it that they did not allow that to happen again. Heckman led the charge early in the game, hitting on his first two 3-point attempts. Along with Jon Morgan, this two-headed monster showed their best form of the season combining to each score 10 of the teams 20 points in the first quarter.

As the defense started to focus more on Heckman and Morgan, Phelps stepped up and drilled two long range jumpers in the 2nd quarter to help Timberlake add to its lead. Timberlake relied on a ferocious defense and used that to fuel their offense. They were able to control the pace of the game throughout. In the second half, North Cross came out with a triangle and 2 defenisve scheme in hopes of thwarting the Tornadoes offense, but Chris Thomas took control of the game. He slowed the game down and made the Raiders work on defense for long periods of time.

With great patience displayed and helped by a timely 3 pointer by Chris Newsome, the Tornadoes were able to actually increase their lead heading into the final stanza. Timberlake has won by double digits in both games that Colby Heckman and Jon Morgan have scored 20 or more points a piece. Timberlake looks to even their VIC record to 3-3 on Friday when Westover visits. It will be the 40th Anniversary Homecoming for TCS.
