The Tornadoes first possession against RVCS School lasted less than 3 seconds as they went 84 feet for an easy layup. That play turned out to be a sign of things to come. TCS jumped out to a 23-10 first quarter lead and never looked back, outscoring their opponent by an additional 19 points over the next two quarters. It was the largest magin of defeat Timberlake has ever had over Roanoke Valley.

All five starters for Timberlake contribute points to the first quarter scoring as Colby Heckman and Chris Thomas combined to hit 3 of their 5 three pointers in the stanza. Jon Morgan started off the season well scoring 23 points on 10-18 shooting. He also poured in 6 assists. Thomas and Heckman broke double figures as well scoring 13 and 12 respectively. 11 players scored in the contest as they featured 3-pt bombs from six different players including Luke Cunningham, Patrick Hunt, Mike Laury, and Anthony King. TCS shot nearly 50% from the 3-point line in the game. The Tornadoes showcased a total team effort with their unselfish play, accumulating 21 assists on 27 made field goals.
