Richard Booth's six first-quarter points and Billy Fluker's 10 of his 12 in the first half helped the host Eagles (10-13, 8-6) take command early in winning the Virginia Independent Conference game over Timberlake Christian (6-12, 2-12).

Scott Apjok's 18 points and 13 rebounds led RVC, which wrapped up the No. 3 seeding for the conference tournament that starts Thursday. Booth and Josh MacDermod also had 12 points each, and Joe Surkamer had 11 for the Eagles, who hit 50 percent of their shots and led throughout the game. Phil Wegner had 13 rebounds, and MacDermod had seven assists.

Timberlake Christian (6-12, 2-12) was led by Jon Phillips' 20 points, Brian Fitzgerald's 14 and Bart Hogge's 13.
